That Moment

Every mom knows the moments in life when all you want to do is make it "all better." Every time the kids are sick or have gotten hurt my heart has broken that I couldn't fix it. The other night we went to Aunt Bek and Uncle Bill's house for game night. We had so much fun and stayed up way passed bedtime. Cooper fell asleep watching a movie and B carried him to the car snoozing away. B buckled him in and he woke up crying and fussy. He was mumbling and crying and I couldn't understand him, but finally I could understand "I want Mommy." Of course, I climbed in the back seat (yes, I know not the safest thing to do while hubby is cruising down the road) and snuggled in between the carseats. I put my arm around him and instantly he stopped crying. Brylee, of course, wanted to snuggle too. She grabbed my arm and wrapped her tiny little arms around it and layed her head down. Instantly she was snoozing away. That very moment I will never forget. In that moment, for once, I was able to "fix it" for both of them. I was able to give them comfort that only their Mommy could. I rode the rest of the way home with one arm around Coop and one arm wrapped in Brylee's arms, and I don't remember a time that I have been so thrilled to be a rubber band :) I hope my road of motherhood is full of those moments!

Play Date

We had too much fun in the snow. Friday's snow brought everything to a hault, except us crazies :) We loaded up with all our sleigh riding gear and headed to the Moody's!! They have the PERFECT sleigh riding hill, and I'm not sure who enjoyed it more us or the kids.
We played and played and played, we ate pizza, drank hot chocolate, and played more. A super fun night was had by all. Cooper fell asleep instantly when Bryan picked him up. He was out before B even got him into the car seat.
