Alex's Dance Recital

Brylee and I were so lucky to attend Alex's dance recital. Alex is Brylee's cousin and Brylee just adores her. We loved watching all of the wonderful dancers. Brylee narrated the whole recital for everyone around us, keeping everyone laughing. She was in awe of all of the beautiful girls and costumes. I'm sure it will not be long and we will be signing her up for dance classes of her very own.

Field Day

Once again the kids had so much fun at their school's Field Day. The last couple of years I have gone over on my lunch break, but this year I took the day off and spent the whole morning playing in the water! I am so glad I did. It was so speacial to enjoy the day with them.

The most hilarious moment of the day goes to Brylee. Brylee told me she needed to go pee pee, so I turned around to hand the towels to a friend of mine. I turn back around to see Brylee (minus her bottoms) squatting and peeing in the middle of the field.

The Three Muskateers: Brylee, Luke, and Caylee. They have been together since the baby room and have become the best of friends.

Go CUBS!!

Cooper's biggest fan!!

Coach Daddy!!
His first HIT

Cooper is a proud member of the Cubs!! These pictures are from the first game of the season. Cooper had his very own cheering section. Thanks for coming out everyone and cheering him on. We were cheering him on and Brylee started crying. She didn't understand why we were yelling at her brother. I explained that we were cheering for him and cheering was a good thing. Well, she didn't like it one bit and we were not allowed to cheer the rest of the game.

Cooper loves tee ball and I see many afternoons on the ball field in our future. When we were leaving the game, Cooper and I had the following conversation:

Coop: "Mom, when is it my turn to play football?"
Me: "When you get a little older"
Coop: "then when is it my turn to play basketball?
Me: "You have to be a little older to play basketball, too."
Coop: "Soccer, I can play soccer now. Can't I?"
Me: "yes, but it is a different season. We will play soccer when school starts back."
Coop: "okay, good. I want to play them all."

Coop's new toy

Bryan bought Cooper his first four wheeler. I'm not sure who's more excited, Cooper or Bryan.

Brylee is not sure about the four wheeler. She would much rather play dress up.
deep concentration

He was so super excited to get his very own!!

A day in the country

We took the kids to Hiltons, VA. Bryan's dad, "Big Daddy," was born and raised in Hiltons, and Bryan wanted to take the kids to see where their "Crazy Papaw" was born and sadly has also been buried. It was the first time we had taken the kids, and I was really nervous about it. I didn't know how I was going to answer all of the questions a 2 year old and a 4 year old were going to ask. Cooper and I did have some serious question while riding in the back of the truck. Yes, we had a good ol' time riding in the back of the truck (on the farm). Bryan's dad passed away before Cooper was born and I'm so sad that he did not get to meet our chilren, but I know that they have one loving Guardian Angel in Heaven watching out for them.

The kids had a wonderful time playing in the creek and watching the frogs. Cooper got his first lesson in skipping rocks, and Brylee secured the fact that she is a girly-girl and wanted no part in the frogs or dirt. We had not intended to spend so much of the day here, but the kids loved loved loved the country. They ran wild, screamed loud, and played hard. can you say......Drama Queen

I love these moments between them...Cooper is such a protective big brother and always wants to make sure Sissy is doing the safe thing.

Brylee wanted to give her Crazy Papaw hugs......

and kisses

Cooper had a little private chat with "Crazy Papaw" I walked over with him and he just said, "It's OK mom. I just want to talk to him for a second."

Learning to skip rocks...I'm hoping he will learn and then teach his Momma.
