A day in the country

We took the kids to Hiltons, VA. Bryan's dad, "Big Daddy," was born and raised in Hiltons, and Bryan wanted to take the kids to see where their "Crazy Papaw" was born and sadly has also been buried. It was the first time we had taken the kids, and I was really nervous about it. I didn't know how I was going to answer all of the questions a 2 year old and a 4 year old were going to ask. Cooper and I did have some serious question while riding in the back of the truck. Yes, we had a good ol' time riding in the back of the truck (on the farm). Bryan's dad passed away before Cooper was born and I'm so sad that he did not get to meet our chilren, but I know that they have one loving Guardian Angel in Heaven watching out for them.

The kids had a wonderful time playing in the creek and watching the frogs. Cooper got his first lesson in skipping rocks, and Brylee secured the fact that she is a girly-girl and wanted no part in the frogs or dirt. We had not intended to spend so much of the day here, but the kids loved loved loved the country. They ran wild, screamed loud, and played hard. can you say......Drama Queen

I love these moments between them...Cooper is such a protective big brother and always wants to make sure Sissy is doing the safe thing.

Cooper had a little private chat with "Crazy Papaw" I walked over with him and he just said, "It's OK mom. I just want to talk to him for a second."

Learning to skip rocks...I'm hoping he will learn and then teach his Momma.

He loves to be silly! He loves to make funny faces! He loves his Sissy Brylee Grace and she loves him. He is an overprotective big brother. He loves to hold her hand and guide her through the unknown. They do not like to be seperated. He loves to play with Monster trucks, cars, and any animal he can get his hands on. He loves school and all of his friends. He loves to check his folder at the end of the day to see if he had a "smiley face day." He loves to help me cook. He loves the movie Cars but calls it Lightning McQueen. When tucking him in at night he still needs a hug, kiss, high five, and noggin (in that order). He also likes to have the sheet over his head so he can "hide" under the sheet. He loves his Caney dog and would play with him for hours and hours on end. He talks about going back to the beach ALL the time.

Happy Happy Birthday Griffin! We were so excited to spend the day celebrating Griffin's 3rd birthday with him. He is the kids best little friend and they LOVE him so much. They ask daily if Griffin can come over and play. We are so blessed to have the Moody family (Josh, Sarah, and Griffin) in our lives. Josh (aka Uncle Joe) has been Bryan's best friend since childhood. I love the fact that now their kids will grow up together!

Cooper has decided to give tee ball a try this year. Luckily, the day of sign ups, Uncle D was in town. Cooper was so excited about signing up, he couldn't wait to start practicing. Uncle D was more than happy to oblige.
