Cooper's soccer debut

Cooper went to his first soccer game today. We had a few little mishaps and then a melt down. I really thought that he would absolutely love it and if anything cry because he didn't want it to end. Whew, was I wrong. He did fine at first, but something happened around water break time and he was ready to go home. I'm hoping that on Monday I have better news to report on the soccer front.
Having fun!

Listening to Coach

I should have known from this face that a melt down was coming my way!!

And here it is full melt down, to the tune of "I want to go home" at the top of his lungs

Grand Opening

We were lucky enough to celebrate the GRAND OPENING of Uncle Howie's detailing shop a couple of weeks ago. In true Howie style we celebrated with a shrimp boil at the new place!! The food was fantastic and the kids had a blast.

If you are in need of a clean car you really need to check out his place. Especially if your interior is dirty, he has the coolest thing called an extractor (apparently there are no car detail shops around here that have one) that literally sucks the dirt out from the bottom. It is a heavy duty cleaning for your stained interior. The best part, is that you don't have to worry about the brushes or machinary scratching your car during the wash phase because he actually washes them by hand.

18 month well check

Brylee had her 18 month well check during spring break. She had fun showing off at the appointment and really impressed Dr. Ley with her developmental skills and vocabulary. She danced for him, sang, and even named body parts. She was like a show pony. He pointed to her nose and ask her what it was. She, of course, responded nose. He clapped and said "good job." Then it was on, she rambled off every part she knew including her "pits." We went through the same scenario when he showed her a magazine picture that had several animals. He pointed to the dog and ask her what it was. She responded "dog" and barked. He laughed and clapped and she began showing off again naming all of the animals on the page. The funniest thing was when he pointed to the monkey Brylee said "monkey bed, monkey bed." Dr. Ley looked at me with the most confused face until I explained that when the kids jump on the bed I always say "no more monkeys jumping on the bed." It was all fun and games until the nurse came in with the dreaded shots. Brylee absolutely hates shots and began screaming as soon as she saw the needles. Luckily, she recooperated quickly and was in tip top shape for our play date the next day.

Here are her 18 month stats:

Head 48cm
Weight: 25.12 lbs
Height: 32 inches

Spring Break FUN!!

I really enjoyed spending Spring Break with the kids. We slept in, we relaxed, and most importantly we played from morning till dark. We had such great weather that we even made a play date for early in the week. We didn't go on a big fancy trip and we didn't have big plans, but we enjoyed spending LOTS and LOTS of time together. The kids were so fantastic and even talked their Daddy into sneaking away from work and having lunch with us a couple of days.
Our playdate at the park with Carson, Caylee, their Mommy Tina, Abby, Ellie, Luke, and their Mommy Joanna, Micah and his Mommy Liza. We had sooooo much fun. The kids loved seeing each other outside of school.

Lovin on Caylee (or Caweeee as she calls her)
Cooper and his partner in crime, Carson. These two have been in child care together since they were babies and they are so sweet to each other.
Sporting the St. Patrick's Day gear
Brylee and Luke (or Luke-E as she calls him). These two are so funny to watch. Every day when I pick Brylee up her teacher has some funny story about these two. I think we are in for a long road ahead with them :)

Bath Time part 2

What would a bath time post be without some after bath cutie pie pictures?
These are just so cute. I had to share.

New Tricks

Cooper and Brylee have found a new trick to amuse themselves during bath time. We recently went for a check up with Cooper's ENT doctor and finally got the all clear that both tubes were out. This was a huge day for us. Cooper had to have tubes put in his ears before his 1st birthday, so he has not been able to lay back in the water. We have had to be cautious when he was in the water, making sure his ears were not submerged. Finally, the day came and he was able to lay back and soak in the tub. He loves it. Honestly, I think his favorite part is that he no longer has to have water dumped over his head. Of course, after Cooper started showing off his new bath time skills it only took Brylee a couple of minutes to follow his lead.

Happy 3 - 0 to ME!!

I had an absolutely fantastical 30th birthday. I was able to celebrate the day just the way I wanted, with my family. The morning of my birthday we met up with Mom and Dad, my Grandparents, and one of my uncles at Cracker Barrel, yummmm. Mom and Dad surprised me with a gift card from Dick's. I couldn't imagine what they had intended for me to buy, but Mom quickly squashed my hopes of buying Cooper the cutest North Face jacket on the planet with the announcement that they wanted me to buy a bike. Just a little background, recently, several people in my family have bought bicycles. My thoughtful Mom, thought I might like to join in on the family fun this summer so they bought the gift card to help fund the purchase of my bicycle. I was SOOOO very excited. After breakfast, I drug Mom and Dad to Dick's to help me decide on a bike. Several hours and the kids napping later, Dad and I returned to pick up the PERFECT bike. Well, by this time it was late in the day and everyone wanted to just "wait until tomorrow" to go for a ride. I was not having it, I was a kid with a new toy and I wanted to ride my bike "now." So, my wonderful parents humored me, ran home got their bikes and met us for a fun ride on the Green Belt. We worked up an appetite on our riding journey, so we walked over to Salsarita's for dinner. When we walked in we ran into Cooper and Brylee's friends from school, Carson and Caylee. The kids were thrilled to see each other, and the girls were so sweet they greeted each other with lots and lots of hugs. Huge thanks to my wonderful family for a fun filled birthday!!

Brylee loved the ride

Bryan, Coop and Brylee enjoying the day!

Cooper spotted a squirrel and wanted me to take a picture of it. We spend the rest of the ride on a "squirrel hunt."

Brylee giving some love to her friend, Caylee

The proof is in the...

pudding, or in Brylee's case, the proof is in the blueberry muffin. As many of you know Brylee LOVES to eat, she really enjoys her food. She makes eating such a fun event at our house, and she even squeels in delight at her favorite foods. One of her favorites is blueberry muffins.
